CONTRAINDICATIONS for RF Skin Tightening Treatment

1. Someone with Pacemaker or internal defibrillator.

2. Metal or other implants (such as silicon) in the treatment area.

3. Current or history of skin cancer, as well as any other type of cancer, or premalignant moles.

4. Severe concurrent conditions, such as cardiac disorders.

5. Pregnancy and nursing.

6. Impaired immune system, such as AIDS and HIV, or use of immunosuppressive medications.

7. Diseases which may be stimulated by light at the wavelengths used, such as history of Systemic Lupus Erythematous, Porphyria, and Epilepsy.

8. Patients with a history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treatment area. May be treated only following a prophylactic regime.

9. Poorly controlled endocrine disorders, such as diabetes or Poly Cystic Ovary.

10. Any active condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, and rash.

11. Use of medication and herbs known to induce photosensitivity to light exposure at the wavelengths used, such as Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6 months, tetracyclines, or St. John's Wort within the last 2 weeks.
